Ph.D. students Ha L. Nguyen and Tan L. H. Doan are authors on a recently accepted research paper in the Journal of American Chemical Society, entitled "A Titanium-Organic Framework as an Exemplar of Combining the Chemistry of Metal- and Covalent-Organic Frameworks". This work was a result of collaboration between Drs. Felipe Gandara (former Yaghi group post-doctoral scholar) and Hiroyasu Furukawa (Research Scientist). Congratulations MANAR students!

The Berkeley Global Science Institute's Global Science Coordinator, Kyle E. Cordova, will visit the KFUPM team for an extended period of time starting in March. He will engage the research team at KFUPM through instrument-specific training, project development, and publication writing.

Prof. Ahmad S. Alshammari, Co-Director of the KACST-UC Berkeley Center of Excellence on Nanomaterials for Clean Energy Application, has arrived to the Yaghi Group at Berkeley. Prof. Alshammari will begin work on developing new metal-organic frameworks that function as heterogeneous catalysts for petrochemically relevant processes. The Yaghi group has recently authored an accepted perspective paper in the Journal of the American Chemical Society (Impact Factor: 12.113) titled, "Covalent Chemistry Beyond Molecules" (DOI: 10.1021/jacs.5b10666) that was financially supported by KACST. Congratulations to KACST and the Yaghi group!
