Prof. Omar Yaghi was the fifth and final seminar speaker for the Laboratory Research Experience seminar series. His talk focused on the process of discovery with examples provided from his scientific journey through developing reticular chemistry. He highlighted the discoveries of metal-organic frameworks, covalent organic frameworks, and zeolitic imidazolate frameworks and provided his personal opinions on what future classes of materials will look like. Prof. Yaghi's talk engaged the LRE students with personal stories about the 'explorers' in his group who made key contributions to reticular chemistry.
