Research Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology (RCNN), Indonesia

Research Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (RCNN), at the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) was established to reaffirm a strong commitment to research, development, and applications of the frontier of science and technology for the betterment of Indonesia.

RCNN is composed of 4 research laboratories (nanomaterial, nanomedicine, nanobiotechnology, and nanodevice), each headed by a faculty member, with 25 faculty members and more than 100 students actively engaged in education, research, and community services. Supported by state-of-the-art equipment, such as High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM), Focus Ion Beam (FIB), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), our activities cover a wide spectrum of science and engineering disciplines. Research and educational activities in RCNN emphasizes energy, health, and food related subject areas.

Together with the laboratory of Prof. Omar Yaghi at UC Berkeley, RCNN has been working on the preparation of MOFs for several applications including chemical and bio sensors, water treatment, and drug delivery.
