Over the course of October 4-5, 2018, Founding and Associate Directors Omar M. Yaghi and Kyle E. Cordova, together with BGSI Distinguished Affiliate Scholar Lars Öhrström, attended the 2nd Symposium on Organic and Inorganic Chemistry, Southern Africa in Botswana. The symposium partnered a number of terrific scientists hailing from the University of Cape Town, University of Zimbabwe, University of Botswana, and the University of Namibia with distinguished international researchers. Founding Director, Omar Yaghi, gave an inspiring plenary talk on his obsession with scientific discovery as well as a technical talk on reticular chemistry and harvesting water from air. BGSI was fortunate to have sponsored a number of emerging scholars to attend and present the research they are carrying out in their respective countries.
