BGSI Distinguished Affiliate Scholar, Prof. Osamu Terasaki, delivered a workshop for our global science node FORMS (UPM, Malaysia) on November 29-30, 2019. Prof. Terasaki lectured on the fundamentals of electron microscopy with a particular focus on the uses and applicability of SEM and TEM in structural characterization of soft-materials. The workshop also included a hands-on component, in which Prof. Terasaki explained how engineers approach carrying out TEM and SEM operations, including sample preparation. After the workshop, Prof. Terasaki gave the keynote scientific talk at the 27th Scientific Conference on Microscopy Society Malaysia 2018.
