Through this portal, you can request names and number of new structures created in your lab. All you have to do is fill out the Number Request Submission Form and you will be provided a structure name and number for your publication.
Prof. Kristie Boering was the fourth seminar speaker for the Laboratory Research Experience seminar series. Her talk focused on science's role in preventing global environmental catastrophies (ozone depletion) and her research involved in preventing new global problems from arising. Prof. Boering's talk engaged the LRE students in the role that science has in informing society and was inspiring from the viewpoint of pursuing science as a career.

Prof. Jeff Long was the third seminar speaker for the Laboratory Research Experience seminar series. His talk focused on his research on developing new metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for gas (CO2) capture and separation. He presented his highly regarded work on the mechanism of CO2 capture in amine functionalized MOF-74 and inspired the emerging scholars to maintain an open perspective to data acquired. After the talk, Prof. Long discussed further applications of MOFs, ongoing research areas in his group, and the opportunity to perform science at Berkeley.
Prof. Dean Toste was the second seminar speaker for the Laboratory Research Experience seminar series. His talk focused on his research on developing synthetic, supramolecular catalysts, whose activity are approaching what is seen in Nature. After the talk, Prof. Toste shared his views on working for Robert Grubbs at Caltech and Barry Trost at Stanford as well as the importance of uncovering fundamental truths in science (i.e. the need for basic science).

Prof. Jeff Reimer opened the Laboratory Research Experience seminar series with an inspiring talk on undisputable evidence of climate change and the research being undertaken in his group is aimed at mitigating the problems of climate change. After the talk, Prof. Reimer shared his views on all thing science, politics, and life with the emerging scholars participating in the program.

The participating research group, Supramolecular Chemistry and Nanostructured Systems Laboratory (SuNaLab), will focus its efforts on undertaking the challenge of design, synthesis and application of nanostructured materials. The group places a primary emphasis on recruiting emerging scholars (both from Argentina and abroad) in order to mentor the next generation of scientific leaders.

Many scientific discoveries and patent applications have resulted from more than 25 research projects underway since West Coast universities and BASF established the California Research Alliance (CARA) by BASF in 2014.
